IT Support Engineer / IT Systems Engineer (Hybrid) - #1756393

A leading and growing FMCG Manufacturer is currently recruiting for an IT Systems Engineer / IT support Engineer / First line Engineer to join the business. Reporting into the Head of IT, this IT Systems Engineer / IT support Engineer / First line Engineer will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving everything from user devices to servers and cloud systems and be expected to own and deliver small-medium improvements. This business is looking to double in size within 5 years and this role will grow with them.

This role will directly supports the IT Manager within a 300 headcount manufacturing and office environment.

Must have experience: Solid Windows, O365, basic network, and security skills. Experience with firewalls, Intune, manufacturing/production IT, or project delivery is a plus.

60–70% of your role will be support/admin (tickets, fixes, maintenance) and 30–40%: Small projects, continuous improvement, upgrades, automation

Technical Knowledge

• Windows Server & Active Directory: User/group management, basic GPOs, file/print services
• Office 365 / Microsoft 365: User and license admin, troubleshooting, Teams/SharePoint config
• Endpoint Management: Deploying, imaging, updating laptops, desktops, tablets
• Basic Networking: VLANs, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, troubleshooting connectivity (not design)
• Security Fundamentals: Patch management, MFA, antivirus/EDR (e.g., Sophos), least privilege
• Backup & DR: Understands backup solutions, basic restore/testing
• Scripting/Automation: Basic PowerShell (user admin, bulk tasks, basic reporting)
• Vendor Support: Knows how to log tickets/escalate with 3rd parties and hold them accountable

Desirable Experience

• Firewalls/Security Appliances: (e.g., Sophos XGS, basic policy management—not advanced config)
• MDM (Intune, etc.): Device policies, onboarding/offboarding mobiles/tablets
• Manufacturing/Production IT: Factory floor IT, label printers, line-of-business apps
• Project Delivery: Has supported or delivered at least one system upgrade, migration, or rollout
• Process Improvement: Has spotted a recurring problem and improved/fixed it for the business
• Cloud Platform Familiarity: Some Azure (AAD, basic policies), SharePoint site config, SaaS integrations
