Job Title: Contract Solution Designer – PaymentsLocation: Remote – United Kingdom or EU (work remotely with teams across time zones.)Contract Length: 6 monthsEngagement: Full-timeRate: Competitive daily rate (Inside IR35 in the UK)We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to join a leading technology programme on a 6-month contract basis. This role will suit a hands-on architect or designer with a background in payments systems, who can bridge the gap between business requirements and scalable, secure technical solutions. Role OverviewAs a Solution Designer, you will play a key role in defining and delivering IT architecture across complex platforms.

Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will translate requirements into detailed solution designs, ensuring alignment with long-term technology strategies. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine end-to-end system architecture across projects and develop roadmaps that span multiple interconnected platforms. Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development teams through all stages of the delivery lifecycle.

Translate business needs into robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with strategic objectives. Produce detailed design documentation and maintain architectural oversight.

Ensure integration, security, and performance are considered in all solutions delivered. Essential Skills & ExperienceProven experience with digital payment solutions, specifically implementing or supporting Click to Pay functionality, including integration with major card networks (e.g. Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and ensuring secure, seamless user transactions. Proven expertise in IT solution design, ideally within the payments sector.

Strong understanding of system integration, security principles, and scalability concerns. Skilled in producing comprehensive technical documentation. Familiarity with design tools and architecture frameworks.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience working across the full delivery lifecycle of enterprise-scale projects. Desirable ExperiencePrevious leadership experience on large-scale or strategic programmes.

Hands-on experience with scheme payments (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, etc.). Experience working within remote or geographically distributed teams. Interested?
