CAD Engineer - #2070179

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a specialist engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced CAD Engineer to join their growing design team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled CAD professional with strong Autodesk Inventor experience to play a key role in the design and development of large-scale, bespoke engineered products supplied into critical infrastructure and data centre environments.

Working closely with engineering and operations teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed 3D models, GA drawings and fabrication-ready manufacturing drawings for complex fabricated assemblies.

• Produce high-quality 3D models from engineering concepts and specifications
• Generate General Arrangement (GA) drawings for customer approval
• Develop fabrication-ready manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Update designs to “as-built” status following manufacture and installation feedback
• Collaborate with engineering, production and project teams throughout the design lifecycle
• Attend internal project meetings and customer/site meetings where required
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, production efficiency and material utilisation
• Ensure all drawings are completed accurately, on time and in line with quality and safety standards
• Support cost-conscious design decisions and highlight any potential cost increases resulting from design changes

• Advanced user knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Vault is essential
• Strong background producing detailed 3D product designs on a daily basis
• Experience designing large fabricated or heavy assembly products is essential
• Previous experience within sectors such as acoustic enclosures, modular buildings, HVAC, cooling systems, switchgear housings, generators, containers or similar would be highly advantageous
• Ability to produce accurate manufacturing and fabrication drawings
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Commercially aware with a proactive and collaborative approach
• Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
