Description
As the Transport Manager, you will,
- Oversee the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Manage and coordinate a team of drivers and transport staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Develop and implement transport strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport laws and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure fleet reliability.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline logistics processes.
- Analyse transport data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on transport performance and efficiency.
Profile
A successful Transport Manager should have:
- Proven experience in running a busy transport fleet, ideally supporting inbound and outbound (to retail stores) movements
- A strong understanding of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in analysing data and using it to inform decisions.
- Experience in managing and motivating teams to achieve operational goals.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet management best practices.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Be available to start at short notice, ideally immediately
Job Offer
- A competitive salary ranging from £55,000 to £60,000
