A great opportunity has arisen for a lift supervisor to join an expanding company in the crane and access industry

Job Description:

  • Sling and guide loads safely, using appropriate equipment and approved techniques.
  • Direct crane movements using recognised hand and radio signals.
  • Inspect lifting accessories before use, ensuring certification, condition, and suitability.
  • Establish and maintain exclusion zones for lifting operations.
  • Halt operations immediately if unsafe conditions exist.
  • Ensure all lifts are completed in line with lift plans and method statements.
  • Coordinate lifting works with crane operators, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Deliver daily checks, briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor site standards including PPE use, housekeeping, and safe behaviour.
  • Maintain accurate records: lift plans, permits, checklists, and daily logs.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective action is taken.
  • Act as the company lead on site, keeping clients informed and reassured.
  • Supervise and support team members, addressing performance or conduct issues.
  • Promote companies values of reliability, trust, and quality in all dealings.
  • Provide feedback and lessons learned to improve future operations.

Beneficial Skills / Qualifications:

  • Certified Slinger & Banksman (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and safe lifting/working at height regulations.
  • Supervisor training (SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven experience in lifting operations and site supervision.
  • First Aid at Work (or Emergency First Aid).
  • Safety-first mindset, stopping unsafe work immediately.
  • Professional, punctual, and reliable in all site dealings.
  • Clear communicator with clients, colleagues, and crane operators.
  • Calm and decisive under pressure, focused on safe and efficient solutions.
  • Acts as a company ambassador, ensuring our reputation on site is consistently strong.
