About the Role:
As Registered Service Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of a small residential home, ensuring it meets all regulatory, safeguarding and quality standards. You will lead and develop your team to deliver consistent, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours. Your leadership will be central to maintaining a stable, high-performing service and continuous improvement in outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clear leadership and management of the residential home, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred service delivery.
* Oversee daily operations, including rota management, staffing levels, and allocation of responsibilities to meet service needs.
* Ensure full compliance with CQC standards, local authority requirements and internal policies, including robust safeguarding practices.
* Implement and monitor quality assurance processes, including audits, action plans and regular service reviews.
* Lead staff recruitment, induction and performance management, addressing capability and conduct issues where necessary.
* Coach, mentor and support the staff team to develop skills in managing challenging behaviours and delivering positive behaviour support.
* Maintain accurate, up-to-date records, care plans and risk assessments, ensuring documentation meets regulatory standards.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with families, external professionals and stakeholders to support collaborative care planning.

Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a management role within residential care or supported living for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and sustaining effective staff teams.
* Demonstrable knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding frameworks and relevant health and social care legislation.
* Experience of managing services that support individuals with challenging behaviours, including risk management.
* Ability to implement and maintain robust quality assurance and improvement processes.
* Confident in handling complex situations, making sound decisions and prioritising effectively in a busy service.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage staff, residents and external professionals.
* Competent in using care management systems and maintaining accurate, compliant documentation.

Desirable Skills:
* Experience in a small residential home setting with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
* Knowledge and application of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
* Experience of leading services through CQC inspections and implementing post-inspection action plans.
* Background in developing and delivering staff training in behaviour management and person-centred care.
* Familiarity with local authority commissioning and contract monitoring processes in West Yorkshire.

Qualifications:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care  (or equivalent) – required or willingness to work towards.
* Relevant health and social care qualification (e.g. NVQ/QCF Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care) – required.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in social care, leadership or behaviour support – preferred.
* Full UK driving licence – preferred, depending on service needs.
