About Dowson Food Machinery

Established in 1982, Dowson Food Machinery designs and manufactures robust industrial bakery equipment from its Keighley facility. We supply standard and bespoke machinery to leading bakeries in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for two practical, quality-focused CNC Miller Setter/Operator to set and operate CNC milling machines, produce accurate components from engineering drawings and inspect your own work.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines safely and efficiently.
• Manufacturing parts from bot castings and raw materials.
• Use existing programs and make minor edits when required.
• Work accurately from engineering drawings and work within tolerances.
• Inspect finished components and maintain high-quality standards.
• Keep your work area safe and organised, support stock control and meet production targets.

Machinery and Development

Work with Dah Lih and Eumach CNC milling machines. Programs are provided, with some editing required. You will receive practical training to develop your setting and programming skills.

What We Are Looking For

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
• Apprentice-trained, time-served or able to demonstrate equivalent practical machining experience gained through the trade.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work accurately to tolerances.
• A safe, organised and dependable approach.
• Ability to meet production timescales and take pride in quality.
• CNC milling, setting or operating experience is desirable.
• Competent with measuring equipment.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8.00 am–4.20 pm
Friday: 8.00 am–2.00 pm
Overtime: Available on weekdays and weekends.
