Hydraulics Design Engineer - #2176114

We are recruiting a Hydraulics Design Engineer on behalf of our client, a well-known manufacturer. This opportunity would suit an engineer who enjoys developing practical hydraulic solutions and working closely with manufacturing teams to bring designs into production.

You will support the design, development and improvement of hydraulic systems, taking projects from initial specification through to testing and production.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing hydraulic circuits and selecting pumps, valves, cylinders and associated components.
• Producing hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings and bills of materials.
• Completing calculations to assess system pressure, flow, performance and efficiency.
• Working with mechanical, electrical and production teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
• Supporting prototype builds, testing and troubleshooting.
• Improving existing designs to enhance reliability, manufacturability and cost.
• Liaising with suppliers on component specifications and technical queries.

About you

• Experience designing hydraulic systems within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• A sound understanding of hydraulic components, circuit design and system calculations.
• Experience using CAD software to produce technical drawings and schematics.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and an ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
