Role Description The Senior Care Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Bradford, preston, huddersfield responsible for providing high-quality care and support to clients in their own homes. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with personal care, mobility, medication prompts in line with company policy, and daily living activities such as meal preparation and light household duties. The role involves supporting individuals with complex needs, including dementia care, monitoring wellbeing, and promptly reporting any changes in condition. The Senior Care Assistant will help coordinate care plans, mentor and support junior care staff, maintain accurate records, and ensure that all care is delivered in line with regulatory standards and company policies. Building trusting relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals is central to this role.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong caregiving skills, including experience with personal care and supporting individuals with varying levels of independence, ideally in domiciliary or residential care settings.
• Candidates should possess dementia care skills, with an understanding of person-centered approaches, behavioural support, and effective communication strategies for people living with dementia.
• Candidates should possess safe manual handling skills, including the use of mobility aids and adherence to health and safety guidelines to reduce risk for clients and colleagues.
• Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, clear written documentation, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) are highly beneficial, along with up-to-date training in medication awareness, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and first aid.
• Previous experience in a senior or lead care role, reliability in shift work, flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and a commitment to continuous professional development are preferred.
