The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The Support Options Team assists customers in setting up and maintaining services as set out in their support plans





The Support Brokerage Officer works with Social Work teams and Commissioned Social Care providers to place packages with providers who support adults and young people who have an assessed care need. This can include, for example, older people, people with a learning disability or physical disability, people with mental health needs





Main responsibilities of the post include:





  • Source appropriate services for customers, including (but not limited to) preventative services, domiciliary care, community meals, shopping services, transport, leisure/lifestyle as directed by the customer and meeting their needs as outlined in their support plan. Where necessary, to ensure that the provision meets the needs as outlined in the care plan, ensuring that the customer and the Council receives best value.

  • Maintaining electronic databases and inputting accurate information.

  • Matching customers to providers of service (with whom CBMDC has a contract in place) in a timely manner, based primarily on the specific needs of the individual but also best value to the council.






You must be:






Educated to Level 2 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework e.g. NVQ Level 2, GCSE grade A* - C, Skills for Life Level 2 or equivalent.
