Our Ecology team at Lucion offers a range of services to support clients in meeting ecological and environmental requirements. This expertise includes conducting habitat and protected species surveys, delivering reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), and providing planning, mitigation, and licensing advice. The team also focuses on biodiversity net gain (BNG) and nature-based solutions, working across sectors like infrastructure, energy, and development .


We’re seeking a collaborative and motivated Senior Ecologist to join our expanding team. You’ll work on a wide variety of high-profile and purpose-driven projects across the UK, with the autonomy and flexibility to do your best work – whether from home, on-site, or alongside colleagues. What


You’ll Be DoingLeading a diverse range of habitat and protected species surveys


Producing high-quality reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and management plans

Providing planning, mitigation, and licensing advice to clients

Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team development

Working with purpose-led clients across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and development

Driving innovation in biodiversity net gain, nature-based solutions, and ecological strategy

What We’re Looking ForMinimum of 4 years’ experience in ecological consultancy

Strong field skills, with expertise in protected species identification and mitigation

Excellent report writing and communication skills

Full UK driving licence
