Senior RF Filter Engineer - #1765888

Wave sector who are looking to appoint a Senior RF Filter Engineer at their facility in Leeds. The company designs and manufactures advanced RF and microwave subsystems used in satellite communications, high-frequency wireless links, and next-gen sensing systems. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex filter and subsystem designs, playing a key role in product development from simulation through to production.

Ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, customer collaboration, and contributing to innovation in high-frequency communications. Key Responsibilities:Full responsibility for RF/microwave filter and sub-system design, including simulation, prototyping, tuning, and validation. Support ongoing R&D into next-generation filter technologies.

Collaborate with sales and applications teams during customer engagement and quotation phases. Produce and review design documentation—test specs, data packs, design logs, compliance matrices, and peer reviews. Conduct verification and validation testing, including power handling, temperature tests, and tuning using VNAs.

Take part in design reviews, contributing to quality, performance, and risk mitigation. Provide support for product introduction, manufacturing transfer, and troubleshooting as required. Requirements:Degree (or equivalent) in RF, Communications, or a related engineering field.

Experience in RF/microwave filter design. Strong knowledge of DFM, tolerance/yield analysis, and filter simulation tools (Microwave Office, CST, etc.). Hands-on experience with tuning, measurement equipment, and environmental testing.
